Onion & Garlic Processing Lines

Overview

VegTech Systems, in partnership with Bigtem, offers advanced garlic processing lines designed for high-efficiency clove separation, peeling, washing, and packaging. This industrial solution transforms whole garlic bulbs into clean, peeled, and retail-ready cloves with minimal waste and maximum product quality.

Built for continuous, automated operation, the system ensures gentle handling, high yield, and consistent output, making it ideal for commercial garlic processors and food production facilities.

Complete Garlic Processing Workflow

The fully integrated line includes:

  • Clove Separation
Whole garlic bulbs are fed into a separator where precision mechanical rollers break them into individual cloves.
  • Size Grading & Sorting
A rotary drum grader separates cloves by size. Oversized cloves for seed garlic are diverted, while partially separated cloves are automatically recirculated.
  • Conditioning
Cloves pass through a conditioning tunnel that enhances skin brittleness, improving peeling efficiency.
  • Air-Blast Peeling
Multiple peeling tubes use high-pressure air and friction to remove dry skins without damaging the clove flesh.
  • Washing & Cleaning
Peeled cloves are cleaned in a vortex washing system to remove residual skins and impurities.
  • Drying & Dewatering
A vibratory dewatering system combined with air knives ensures gentle and effective moisture removal.
  • Inspection & Grading
Final quality control ensures uniform, high-quality cloves.
  • Packaging (MAP Technology)
Cloves are weighed and packed in multilayer bags with nitrogen flushing (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) to extend freshness.
  • Metal Detection & Cartoning
Finished packs pass through metal detection, are boxed, and prepared for distribution.
  • Cold Storage
Stored at 0–2°C, providing up to 30 days of refrigerated shelf life.
