VegTech Systems represents Bigtem’s onion and garlic processing lines. This industrial garlic processing line is designed for efficient garlic clove separation, peeling, washing, and packaging. Whole garlic bulbs are fed into a clove separator where mechanical rolls break the bulbs into individual cloves. The cloves are then size-graded in a rotary drum, while oversized cloves for planting (seed garlic) are separated and partially attached cloves are automatically recycled.
The cloves pass through a conditioning tunnel that improves skin brittleness for efficient peeling. Conditioned cloves are evenly fed into multiple air-blast peeling tubes, where high-pressure air and friction rubbing remove the dry skins without damaging the clove flesh.
Peeled cloves are cleaned in a vortex washing system, then dried on a vibratory dewatering deck with air knives. After inspection and grading, cloves are weighed and packed into multilayer bags with nitrogen flushing (MAP). Finished packages pass through metal detection, are packed into cartons, and stored at 0–2°C, providing up to 30 days refrigerated shelf life.
