Walnuts & Almonds processing and packaging lines

VegTech Systems represents Bigtem’s Fresh Walnuts Processing Line, engineered to process fresh walnuts at 500 kg/h to 5 tons/h for the fresh market. This system efficiently removes hulls, cleans, and prepares walnuts while preserving kernel quality, using gentle handling to minimize breakage. Constructed with food-grade stainless steel, it offers durability, hygiene, and energy efficiency, ideal for small-to-industrial-scale operations.
The process begins with receiving fresh walnuts, where a dehuller strips off the green hulls using mechanical rollers or brushes, followed by a high-pressure water wash to remove husk residue and dirt. Next, the walnuts are air-dried (30-40°C) for 2-6 hours to lower outer shell moisture to 8-12%, ensuring safe storage without over-drying the kernels, then conveyed for optional sorting or packaging. This sequence ensures clean, market-ready walnuts across the 500 kg/h to 5 tons/h range.
Equipment includes: Intake Hopper (500 kg/h-5 tons/h, 1-3 kW); Dehuller (2-6 kW, 1-3 m³/h water at 4 bar); Washing Unit (2-5 m³/h water, 3-7 kW, 20-50 L/min air at 6 bar); Drying Chamber (30-40°C, 15-40 kW, 50-150 L/min air); Output Conveyor (2-6 kW).
